David Sanborn and Alex Han added to Contemporary Jazz Cruise 2017

Six-time Grammy Award-winning sax supremo David Sanborn is among several new additions joining the stellar line-up for the Contemporary Jazz Cruise, which sails from 4 to 11 February 2017 with some some of the biggest names from the US jazz scene also on board and performing concerts each day. Other new confirmations include renowned drummer Billy Kilson, sax dynamo Alex Han, rising star bassist Ben Williams, and keyboardists Geoffrey Keezer and Brett Williams.

All these artists join top US bassist, bandleader and producer Marcus Miller, who heads up the impressive sea-bound roster so far confirmed that include a performance by the Pat Metheny Trio while the ship is docked in San Juan. Also setting sail are Joshua Redman Trio, Terence Blanchard, Chucho Valdes, Robert Glasper Trio and The Bad Plus, plus vocal stars Dianne Reeves, Lalah Hathaway and Gregory Porter. The Candy Dulfer Band are no longer performing as previously announced.

Departing from Ft Lauderdale, Florida, the cruise itinerary includes two days at sea along with visits to Nassau in the Bahamas, San Juan, Samana in the Dominican Republic and Labadee, a high end resort area on the northern coast of Haiti, before returning to Ft Lauderdale. Jazz fans will get the chance to meet the musicians and attend concerts and nightly jam sessions in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
