Jazz breaking news: Led Bib Sign Media Deal With Faber Music

Led Bib drummer Mark HolubWalthamstow jazz-skronk-rockers Led Bib – who play a sold out gig at the Vortex tonight as part of the London Jazz Festival – continue to reap the rewards of their Mercury Music Prize-nominated album Sensible Shoes by signing a worldwide media synchronisation deal with prestigious publishers Faber Music. They join a roster that also includes Radiohead guitarist/composer Johnny Greenwood, Sir Paul McCartney’s classical works as well as leading film composer Stephen Warbeck and acclaimed sitarist Nishat Kahn.

Now enjoying a higher profile Led Bib made quite an impact with their Mercury Prize appearance winning fans among fellow Prize nominees that included The Horrors, as well as appearing live on Channel 4 News, performing the program’s theme tune alongside Jon Snow on keyboards and Krishnan Guru-Murthy on bass, as well as live sessions for Janice Long’s BBC Radio 2 show, BBC6 Music and XFM. Mark Holub (pictured left), the band’s drummer, said,“ We are all really excited about the Faber signing, everything has accelerated for us since the announcement and it’s a brilliant time. This new prospect of working with film and TV is a great new development and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Faber.”  

After their LJF performance tonight they set out on an extensive nationwide tour that continues through December and right into the summer of next year –dates so far announced include: The Old Market, Hove (28 November), Bonington Theatre, Nottingham (10 December), Champions Bar, Bournemouth (12 December 2009), Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester (16 January 2009), Orange Street Music Club, Canterbury (22 January 2010), The Rainbow, Birmingham (27 January 2010), Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Rodewald Suite, Liverpool (5 February 2010), Buxton Festival, Buxton (21 February 2010), Vibraphonic Festival, Exeter Corn Exhange (19 March 2010), Leeds College of Music, Leeds (21 April 2010), Tolbooth Arts Centre, Stirling, Scotland (22 April 2010), Real Ale Jazz and Blues Festival, Lichfield (27 June 2010), Mostly Jazz Festival, Moseley, Birmingham (4 July 2010).
