Jazz breaking news: Loop Collective Returns For State of the Scene Festival |

London’s Loop Collective – generally recognised to be the barometer for all that’s fresh and new on the young London jazz scene – is set to present its annual festival at the Vortex club in London from 17-21 Feb. Founded four years ago, the Loop Collective will feature some of its leading bands at the Fest along with guest bands from other top European collectives and Loop friends: F-ire, Yolk, LIMA, and Umlaut. Concerts from the fest will be broadcast by Radio’s 3’s late-night Jazz on 3 programme. Festival highlights inlclude: Seb Rochford + Leafcutter John, Sam Crockatt and Alex Bonney’s Tribute To Ayler (Wed 17); Dog Soup, Tom Mix and Phronesis (18 Feb); Blink, Dave Manington’s Riff-Raff, Golden Age of Steam (19 Feb); Ma, Fringe Magnetic, Peeping Tom with Evan Parker, Gemini (20 Feb); Matt Bourne, Outhouse and Ivo Neame 4tet (21 Feb).
