Jazz breaking news: Voting Now Open For 2010 All Parliamentary Jazz Awards

The sixth annual Parliamentary Jazz Awards are set to take place on May 19th – potentially just days after a general election – with the winners announced at a ceremony hosted on the House Of Commons Terrace Pavilion. And so it’s your chance to once again vote for your favourite musicians, venues, writers and jazz media both in print and online.

The awards are organised by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group (formed of over 100 members from all political parties), in conjunction with PPL, Jazz UK, Jazzwise, Jazz Services and the Jazz section of the Musicians’ Union.

The nine categories you can vote on are: Jazz Musician Of The Year; Jazz Ensemble Of The Year; Jazz Venue Of The Year; Jazz Journalist Of The Year; Jazz CD Of The Year (released in 2009 by a band or musician); Jazz Broadcaster Of The Year; Jazz Publication Of The Year; Jazz Education Award (to a person who has contributed to the work of jazz in education); Services To Jazz Award.

Don’t forget to vote for Jazzwise Magazine as your favourite magazine and website… simply click on this link to fill in the online voting form on the Jazzservices Website by 26 February. Jazzwise will bring you the full list of nominees as soon as they are announced and full coverage of the ceremony on May 19th.
