Jazz breaking news: Birmingham To Host Two New Jazz Festivals |

Birmingham is to host a new artist-led jazz festival in March. Harmonic, which takes place from 11-13 March at three Birmingham venues the CBSO Centre, Yardbird Jazz Club and Symphony Hall foyer, is the brainchild of bassist Chris Mapp and trumpeter Percy Pursglove, members of the city’s Cobweb Collective. The festival will focus on the Birmingham and West Midlands scene with visiting guests and the line-up so far includes Claudia Quintet (special international project with guest musicians Percy Pursglove, Steve Tromans and Mike Fletcher), Paul Dunmall Trio with John Edwards and Mark Sanders, Sara Colman, Chris Mapp's Gambol and Moon Unit.
