Jazz breaking news: Jazzizit Celebrates 15th Birthday With Four-Day Festival |

British jazz label Jazzizit commemorates its 15th birthday tonight with a special four-day 15/50 Festival at Pizza Express Jazz Club in London’s Dean Street. Launched in 1995, Jazzizit has released over 50 albums since it started, including titles by Bobby Wellins, Paul Booth, Martin Drew, Laurence Cottle, Tom Cawley’s Curios, Geoff Gascoyne, Derek Nash and Trudy Kerr, the latter pair who now run the label. A Jazzizit compilation, including tracks from both new releases and back catalogue, will be released to coincide with the festival and a new digital store, www.smashdigital.co.uk, has been launched where all tracks can be bought as downloads. The festival dates are: Derek Nash Acoustic Quartet with Dave Newton, Geoff Gascoyne and Seb de Krom (3 Feb); Nigel Price Trio with Pete Whittaker and Matt Holme (4 Feb); Trudy Kerr and Dave O’Higgins Quintet with Tom Cawley, Geoff Gascoyne and Seb DeKrom (5 Feb); Geoff Gascoyne Pop Bop with Jim Mullen, Graeme Blevins and Seb De Krom (6 Feb).
