On 12 July Bugge Wesseltoft, the innovative Norwegian keyboardist and composer, will give a rare performance at London’s Oval Space in Bethnal Green with his seven-piece group, Bugge 'n' Friends (pictured), which includes trumpeter Erik Truffaz, saxophonist Ilham Ersahin and producer Joaquin ‘Joe’ Claussell. The new venue is fast acquiring a reputation for its dynamic programming – having already played host to the likes of Bonobo, Wolf+Lamb and Claude Von Stroke – and this gig looks set to be a memorable one.

Bugge ‘n’ Friends, according to Wesseltoft, “is all about presenting a community of music and international artists, mixing jazz and electronic music together in a deep mutual respect and with a fascination for each other’s worlds.” There’ll also be DJ sets from Alex Barck (of the Berlin-based collective Jazzanova), along with a special guest yet to be announced. The evening kicks off with drinks on the terrace at 6pm. Performances start at 7.30, and will run through to midnight.
